Thalassemia Awareness Programme – Rotary Clubs Unite

IVWS hosted a Thalassemia Awareness Programme on 19th November 2025. The Rotary clubs of Chowringhee, Urbana, Mid East, and Harmony united to co-host the event and lend support to the Anti-Thalassemia Drive. District Governor,Dr.Ramendu Hom Chaudhuri of Rotary Chowringhee, who is also the brand ambassador for the Anti-Thalassemia Drive, delivered an in depth presentation on the genetic implications of the disorder, prevention strategies, and the importance of early screening.
The programme featured an engaging quiz on thalassemia, general knowledge, and sports, enthusiastically received by the Interactors. Students performed a soulful song dedicated to Thalassemia Awareness and presented a detailed project clarifying misconceptions and highlighting preventive measures.
This combined effort underscored the power of community partnership in spreading crucial health education and fostering a supportive environment for those affected by thalassemia.
