WEST BENGAL STATE UNDER-19 (OPEN & GIRLS) FIDE RATED CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

Sunshine Chess Academy successfully organized the West Bengal State Under-19 (Open & Girls) FIDE Rated Chess Championship 2025 at Indus Valley World School from 7th to 10th November 2025. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 321 young players representing 19 districts across West Bengal.
The championship, played over 8 rounds, witnessed four days of intense and exciting matches. The closing ceremony, held on 10th November, was graced by Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua and Ms. Reshma Bhattacharya, Principal of Indus Valley World School, who felicitated the winners and appreciated the efforts of all participants.
From this tournament, four players each from the Open and Girls’ sections qualified to represent West Bengal in the National Under-19 Chess Championship to be held in Jamshedpur from 16th to 24th December 2025.
The event was a resounding success, reflecting the growing passion for chess among the youth while promoting discipline, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship.
