BISHNUPUR EXCURSION 2025

Grades V, VI, VII | October 26-28, 2025

Our students of grades V, VI, and VII embarked on an enriching three-day educational excursion to the historic temple town of Bishnupur in West Bengal’s Bankura district from October 26-28, 2025. The journey brought history to life as students explored the magnificent 17th-century Rasmancha pavilion, marvelled at the exquisite terracotta carvings of Jorbangla and Shyam Rai temples, and learned to identify Bengal’s unique chala and ratna architectural styles. At the Bishnupur Museum, they gained insights into heritage preservation and the efforts of dedicated archaeologists and scholars.

Day two offered hands-on experiences as students participated in a clay modelling workshop with award-winning artisans in Panchmura village, the heart of terracotta craft in West Bengal. They witnessed traditional Baluchari weaving techniques and made an exciting discovery of a 1919 inscription at the legendary Dalmadol cannon site. The final day took the group on a nature adventure, trekking the rugged canyon carved by the Shilaboti river at Gangani, where they collected rock and plant specimens while soaking in panoramic views of the spectacular landscape.

Beyond the academic experiences, the trip was filled with birthday celebrations, musical evenings, laughter-filled moments, and memories that will last a lifetime. This excursion truly exemplified learning beyond classrooms and growing through real-world experiences!
