ABSRM at IVWS

Indus Valley World School, Kolkata, has proudly become the first school in the city’s history to partner with ABRSM. The ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) is one of the five examination boards in the United Kingdom to award graded music examinations and diploma qualifications under the UK’s National Qualifications Framework.
This milestone collaboration enables students to pursue systematic music studies through graded evaluations. Upon completing each level, students receive internationally recognised certificates that add significant value to their academic portfolios, particularly in college applications, and open pathways to diverse career opportunities in the future.
This year, the school welcomed ABRSM examiner Mr. Philip Walsh, who assessed the musical performance skills of the young learners and contributed expert insights to the assessment process. During his visit, Mr. Walsh also inaugurated The Voice of IVWS — the school’s state-of-the-art Audio-Visual Room, marking the first in-house recording studio in any school in Kolkata.
