FinFlare Events and Final Round Achievements

09/12/2025

On 14th October, Indus Valley World School hosted a range of engaging activities under FinFlare—Kolkata’s first youth-led Financial Literacy Fest supported by students from leading colleges and professional institutes. Students from Classes 3 to 5 took part in FinStrokes and FinTales, where they explored basic money concepts such as saving, spending, and budgeting through creative artwork and writing. Given a surprise theme shortly before the event, participants displayed adaptability, originality, and clear understanding. These activities promoted creative expression, critical thinking, and early financial awareness.

QuizNomics, the quiz for Grade 7, saw four teams of two students competing with great enthusiasm. The contest was intense and closely fought, filled with quick thinking, strong teamwork, and lively participation. Students enjoyed the challenge and gained valuable knowledge in the process.

In EchoSpark, the finance debate for Grade 8, eight students—four speaking for the motion and four against—presented well-structured arguments and countered opposing views with confidence. The session encouraged meaningful dialogue, clarity of thought, and deeper understanding of real-world financial issues.

The FinFlare Final Round was held on 22nd November at South City International School. Two quiz teams and two debate participants from Indus Valley World School qualified for this stage.
Final Results (Quiz – Grade 7):

1st Place: Ayushman Mitra (7B) & Ayushman Ganguly (7C)

3rd Place: Bidit Biswas (7D) & Upamanyu Bhattacharya (7A)

Final Round Performance (Debate – Grade 8):
