The Mathematics Day was observed with great enthusiasm on 22nd January, celebrating the versatility of Mathematics. The programme commenced with a lively song integrating Math with rhythm that set an energetic tone, followed by a unique yoga session highlighting the harmony between logical thinking and physical balance. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Mrs Krishna Sengupta, Principal and Head of the Mathematics Department of New Horizon School, Kolkata, whose presence added distinction and inspiration to the occasion. A challenging mathematics quiz tested the participants’ logical and analytical skills, while engaging math mini-games, interactively conducted by the hosts, encouraged active audience participation and problem-solving in a fun-filled manner. A special highlight of the programme was Trickometry, where students presented fascinating Vedic Mathematics tricks that demonstrated faster and smarter methods of calculation, making problem-solving more enjoyable and efficient. The programme also featured a thought-provoking poem on math and a vibrant dance connecting math with movements, showcasing how mathematics extends beyond numbers into art, rhythm, and creative expression. Overall, the programme successfully highlighting mathematics as a dynamic, engaging, and integral part of everyday life.
